Steve Jobs - What a great inspiration to us all

We have always loved Apple products since their first release many years ago. Steve Jobs was a inspiring and vibrant character who did so very much to change the way Technology is likely to move forward in the coming months and years. He was responsible for upcoming release of the very latest Iphone 4S, theNeXT computer systems on which much of the success of the Apple brand was built and had a strong base at Pixar studios which he later sold onto Disney.

We love this video which shows some of his most interesting stories (it is well worth watching it for the full 15 minutes ;) :

How Phones have Evolved Over the Past 10 Years

Technology has changed a lot over the past decade and here at U-BOP were going to some of top 5 phones since 2001.

Starting with the-

T-Mobile Sidekick

This phone was released in 2002. With its qwerty keyboard this phone is the great grandmother of all qwerty keyboard phones of today.

Motorola RAZR

This phone was the crème de la crème of clamshell (flip) phones with its sleek feel as well as being functional.

Nokia N95

The Nokia N95 was where the Smartphone idea evolved from. This phone was much more then just a phone, it had GPS, web browser, email and multi media capabilities.

Blackberry Curve

Blackberry phones used to be aimed at business men and women. To solve this RIM decided to make the blackberry more user friendly. They added a camera and other multi media components. Blackberry are now one of the most popular phones for all walks of life.

 Apple iPhone

The first iPhone was released in 2007. Apple combined all the above phones into one phone. From its sleek feel  to its amazing touch screen Apple have pushed mobile phone capabilities further then anyone else. The smartphone image has moved so fast thanks to Apple.

What we expect to see in the iPhone 5

With only hours separating us from Apples October 4th launch event we complied a list of what we think the iPhone 5 will bring.

A new design

From our pictures of the iPhone 5 case below you can probably see the design is different from the iPhone 4 predecessor. The rumour has it the iPhone 5 will have a curved back much like the 3gs yet be thinner then iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 is expected to be wider then the iPhone 4 hopefully accommodating a larger screen which brings us onto...

A Larger Screen

Almost every leaked image of iPhone 5 screen protectors show a large screen. The iPhone has had the same size screen since its release back in 2007.  It would surprise us if Apple didn't supply the iPhone 5 with a large screen with the increased pressure from its competitors.

8 MP Camera

From our case photos you can the iPhone 5 will have a bigger lens. It is very likely Apple will provide a 8MP camera with the capability of full 1080p HD recording.

Elongated Home Button

This is just a rumour although leaked images of the iPhone screen protector show an elongated Home button. We think this will be used to swipe between screens from the home button instead of the screen itself.
